Six college staff win HSC Superior Accomplishment Awards
Congratulations to the College of Dentistry’s Superior Accomplishment Award winners who will be honored at a luncheon in March.
Nimmo elected to the American Board of Prosthodontics
Arthur Nimmo, D.D.S., F.A.C.P., a professor of prosthodontics and director of predoctoral implant dentistry at the UF College of Dentistry, was elected as an examining member of the American Board of Prosthodontics and will serve a seven-year term.
Wheeler elected president of Orthodontists society
Timothy Wheeler, D.M.D., Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Orthodontics, Assistant Dean for Advanced and Graduate Education, and the Academy 100 Eminent Scholar Chair, was elected president of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists.
Sharing Special SmilesŪ at the Special Olympics
Thank you to a group of special UF College of Dentistry volunteers – 11 students, one resident and one faculty member – who volunteered for the Fall Classic Special Olympic Games in Orlando at Disney’s Wide World of Sports.
OKU installs new slate of officers
In November the local chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), a national dental honor society, installed a new slate of officers to serve for the 2009-10 year during the fall business meeting in Gainesville, Fla.
