Starting July 1, the use of cigarettes or other tobacco products on the UF campus, including in the Health Science Center, parking lots and vehicles, is not permitted.

Making an impression
Thirty-five participants from under-represented minority groups across Florida got an impression of what dental school is like during the Third Annual Impressions Program on July 23, coordinated by the college SNDA chapter.
UF Student National Dental Association wins several honors
The UF College of Dentistry Chapter of the Student National Dental Association (SNDA) won Chapter of the Year and First Place in the Scrapbook Competition at the 97th NDA/SNDA Annual Convention in Honolulu, Hawaii, held on July 16-21, 2010.
Dolan completes the 2010 HERS Bryn Mawr Summer Institute
Teresa A. Dolan, D.D.S., M.P.H., dean of the University of Florida College of Dentistry, recently graduated from the HERS Bryn Mawr Summer Institute, held June 18-July 2 at Bryn Mawr College, Bryn Mawr, Pa.
2010 Summer Learning Program
“Do I want to be a dentist?” Ten undergraduate students from Florida colleges and universities discovered their answers to that question as part of the college’s Ninth Annual Summer Learning Program in July.
Davis Productivity Award winners honored
Congratulations to the UF College of Dentistry Clinical Education Model Transition Team members -- winners of a 2010 Prudential Davis Productivity Award from UF. They were recently recognized for their achievement by the university at a luncheon.
Neubert receives UF award
John Neubert, D.D.S., Ph.D., received a 2010 Excellence Award for Assistant Professors from the UF Office of the Provost. The award focuses on junior faculty and recognizes excellence in research and includes a one-time allocation of $5,000.
2010 White Coat Ceremony
On June 26, 2010, the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Florida was filled with family and friends of the UF College of Dentistry’s class of 2012.
Garvey receives two community service awards
Congratulations to Tim Garvey, D.M.D., a clinical assistant professor in the department of pediatric dentistry, who is the deserving recipient of two awards in recognition of his outstanding service to the community.
Dean appoints three department chairs
Dean Teresa A. Dolan announced the appointment of three faculty to department chair positions: Matthew Dennis, D.D.S., oral and maxillofacial surgery; Marc Gale, D.M.D., operative dentistry; and Arthur Nimmo, D.D.S., F.A.C.P., prosthodontics.
