UF College of Dentistry received official word in February 2009 that its predoctoral dental education program had been granted the accreditation status of "approval without reporting requirements" by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). "Approval without reporting requirements" indicates that the program achieves or exceeds the basic requirements for accreditation. The next site visit for the predoctoral program will occur in 2015.

The programs in dental education are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and have been granted the accreditation status of "approval without reporting requirements." The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United Stated Department of Education. Don't miss this opportunity to prepare for the February site visit and hear about all the positive change underway in the college. Overview of the Plans for Our Self-study for Accreditation

  • Attendees: All UFCD faculty
  • Date and Time: August 29, 2006, 7:30-8:30 a.m.
  • Place: Room 6120
  • Directions: To get to Room 6120, go over to the area near MSB Auditorium and go up the stairs as if you were going to the MSB Auditorium itself. At the top of the stairs turn left (away from the Auditorium) and walk down the hall. Take the first set of elevators you come to on your left to the 6th floor. When you get off the elevators on 6, turn left and go through a couple of sets of double doors. Room 6120 will be on your right and is an auditorium style room.
  • Purpose: A 45-minute overview of the Accreditation self-study process, including opening remarks by Dean Dolan. The Accreditation Self-Study Steering Committee members will be introduced, as well as the sixteen Ad hoc Committee chairpersons. Learn how you can become an integral part of the self-study process! (A continental breakfast will be served.)

UFCD Accreditation Self-Study Retreat

  • Invitees: All UFCD faculty and all other ad hoc committee members
  • Date and Time: June 20, 2007, 1:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.
  • Place: Hilton
  • Purpose: Dr. McArthur will provide an update on the status of the accreditation self-study. Dr. Dolan will comment on her perspective of the accreditation self-study and review the progress to date on strategic planning. She will also present an overview of the recent Future Search Conference. The participants will work in small groups to review the various ad hoc committee reports and provide feedback on changes which should be made to those reports.

UFCD Mock Accreditation Site Visit

  • Dates: July 19 & 20, 2007
  • Schedule: Excel Spreadsheet
  • Purpose: UFCD is pleased to welcome Dr. Ann Boyle, Dean, Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and Dr. Bob Trombly, Associate Dean, University of Colorado School of Dentistry as the accreditation mock site visit team. In preparation for our formal site visit in 2008, Dr. Boyle and Dr. Trombly will review select areas from the self-study report and provide their findings. Dr. Boyle's focus will be on institutional effectiveness and curriculum while Dr. Trombly will serve as the clinical consultant.
