Clinical Management / Quick Recovery
Our current clinic management system is Quick Recovery(QR) from General Systems Design. It controls clinic activity, financials, appointment scheduling, and competency tracking.
Access to QR
Before using QR, you must first download and install the client software from the college intranet. Once you have installed the software, QR may be accessed through a web page from anywhere in the world.
A QR user account is maintained separately from a Novell/GroupWise account. In the clinics, you use your Novell account to log onto the computer itself and then log in to QR using your QR account. To obtain a QR account, please have your department representative contact the help desk at 352-273-5701. When accounts are created, every effort is made to match your QR account name to your Novell name, but there may be instances where they cannot be the same, such as when your first initial and last name is greater than 10 characters.
Common problems with QR login
You may see an error message when attempting to log in to QR. The message itself can tell you a lot about your problem and get things resolved more quickly when you call the help desk. The following are some common problems:
- “CPF1120 – user (NAME) does not exist” – Check that you are using the proper QR login name, generally first initial + last name. Often the first initial is left off or there is a typo.
- “CPF1107 – Password not correct for user profile” – The password entered was not the correct password. Passwords are case sensitive, make sure that the caps lock is not on and try again.
- “CPF1394 – User profile (NAME) cannot sign on” – After 5 failed attempts QR will lock your account and even if you remember and type in the correct password you will not be able to log in again until someone at the help desk re-enables your account. Please call the help desk and someone will be able to reactivate your account.
Reports Available for QR
An extensive set of reports can be found for QR on the shared (G:) drive at G:\All_UFCD\Clinical_Administration\DataWarehouse. Select the version of Office you use from the folders and then choose from the available reports. Some of them are written in Excel and are single-purpose reports, generally pivot tables with variable date ranges or financial locations entered in the yellow cells at the top. A more thorough set of reports can be found in the “QuickRecovery.mdb” access database. From this database you can research missing tickets, financial productivity, get doctor number lists, and a whole host of other reports. Please note that you must have access to the shared drives to see these reports, and for security you must be logged in to the DENTISTRY domain to be able to use them. In addition, UF blocks SQL server access from off campus at the UF boundary, so you must be using a computer that is part of the UF network. If you have any questions please call the help desk.
QR training
Since use of QR differs depending on the individual department’s business rules, training in QR is done by the department and not as a group by the IT department. However, for specialized training or individual questions please feel free to call the help desk and someone will assist you.
Student training in QR procedures, however, is standardized and is taught during student clinic orientation.
QR daily close
QR procedure posting is done as a batch process during the evening. This is a manual task and must be done with all users off the system. Therefore, QR is taken offline for approximately 45 minutes each night. The time may vary depending on the day of the week but is generally done sometime between 7:30 and 10:00 PM.
