Internationally-Educated Dentists Program
International Transfer Students
The University of Florida College of Dentistry does not accept international transfer students into the DMD program. We encourage you to complete the dental education program in which you are currently enrolled and earn your dental degree.
To Practice Dentistry in Florida
If you are interested in practicing dentistry in Florida, you should consider our Four-Year DMD Program for International Dentists once you hold an international dental degree.
UPDATE 5/13/2009:
A new 2 year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program for International Dentists is in the planning phases. The one year AEGD program in Hialeah, Florida is becoming a two-year AEGD. Once it is approved, applications will be accepted. Application information will be posted at this website, once the new 2 year AEGD program is approved.
Advanced Education and Graduate Programs
If you are interested in dental specialty training, you can apply to one of our many Advanced Education and Graduate programs once you hold an international dental degree. Our Advanced Education and Graduate programs will enhance your knowledge and skills in American Dental Association-accredited dental specialties, preparing you to function as a dental specialist.
Please understand that the Advanced Education and Graduate programs do not make you eligible to practice dentistry in Florida or to take the Florida dental license exam.
Admission with Advanced Standing
The University of Florida College of Dentistry does not admit students with international dental degrees to the DMD program with advanced standing.
