Transfer Programs

Overview

The University of Florida College of Dentistry does not accept international transfer students into the DMD program. We encourage you to complete the dental education program in which you are currently enrolled and earn your dental degree.

To Practice Dentistry in Florida

Once you hold an international dental degree, you can consider our 2-year Certificate or 4-year DMD programs for international dentists, if you are interested in practicing dentistry in Florida.

Advanced Education and Graduate Programs

Once you hold an international dental degree, you can also apply to one of our many Advanced Education and Graduate programs, if you are interested in dental specialty training. Our Advanced Education and Graduate programs will enhance your knowledge and skills in American Dental Association accredited dental specialties, preparing you to function as a dental specialist.

Please understand, the Advanced Education and Graduate programs do not make you eligible to practice dentistry in Florida or to take the Florida dental license exam.

Admission with Advanced Standing

The University of Florida College of Dentistry does not admit students with international dental degrees to the DMD program with advanced standing. However, we do have 2 programs for dentists who are residents of Florida who have international dental degrees.
