Welcome to the Women in Academic Dentistry web page. Our group meets every other month to consider important issues that affect professional women in the College of Dentistry. We have included a schedule of past meetings and our mission statement.  Please watch this page for announcements about future meetings and join us for our discussions.

Henrietta Logan, PhD
President, Women in Academic Dentistry

The mission of this organization is to establish an informal network, which will further the following aims:

  • Promote an environment in which women faculty can achieve academic success and personal fulfillment.
  • Lessen the sense of academic isolation through sharing of common concerns.
  • Foster mentoring between senior faculty women and junior faculty women and between faculty and students.
  • Facilitate interaction among women faculty and other women professional and community leaders.
  • Promote diversity within the faculty by hiring additional qualified women and underrepresented minorities for faculty positions.
