COURSE OBJECTIVES
At course conclusion, each participant will be updated on:
- Oral Risk Assessment
- Abusive Behavior
- Pharmacology
- Oral Pathology
Patient Centered Care or Oral Risk Assessment
This course will empower the dental hygienist to provide
effective therapeutic interventions for patients through
use of oral risk assessment strategies. Oral risk and
therapeutic interventions will be reviewed and discussed
utilizing case studies. – Sandra Marcil, RDH, MS
Abusive Behaviors
This course will help dental professionals identify and
respond to certain signs and symptoms occurring with
abusive behaviors. – Christine Patel, RDH, BS
The Role of Pharmacology in Dental Practice
The role of pharmacology in daily dental practice
presents multiple considerations for the dental team.
Systematic conditions alone can become problematic
for dental practitioners in helping patients to
attain optimal dental health. For many compromised
patients, medications can further compound these
problems. – Barbara Hammaker, RDH, BASDH
Oral Pathology Review
This course will review various conditions that may lead
to cancer in your patients. It is important for the practicing
dental hygienist to be able to recognize such conditions
in patients. Case studies will be utilized to facilitate
