July 2007 UFCD receives official tenure-eligible list from Provost and Academic Personnel Offices
July 20, 2007 List of nominees for tenure and/or promotion from Department Chairs submitted to the Dean
July 23, 2007 Department Chairs send out letters to solicit External Reviewers
(refer to ‘Solicitation of Letters 2007-2008’ memo)
September 7, 2007 External Reviewers’ letters received by Department Chair
September 28, 2007 Original P&T Packets due in the Dean's Office, D4-14, for technical/formatting review
October 1-12, 2007 Packet adjustment/revision period
October 15-23, 2007 Departmental review and vote
October 24, 2007 Completed P&T packets and 11 (2-sided) copies due in Dean's Office, D4-14
October 24-30, 2007 Compile notebooks for P&T Committee

Mid-Career Review

The mid-career review process for tenure-accruing and non-tenure accruing faculty in the College of Dentistry will occur after three years of employment.  The review process will be used to formally advise the tenure-accruing faculty member on his/her progress toward tenure and recommend courses of action for improvement, if necessary.  For non-tenure accruing faculty, the review process will be used to formally advise the candidate of his/her progress toward promotion.

2007-2008 Mid-Career Review Timeline
August 27, 2007 List of eligible faculty for mid-career review sent to department chairs from the Dean’s Office
August 28-Oct. 5, 2007 Candidate for mid-career review prepares tenure and promotion packet (without letters of evaluation and without a departmental vote)
October 5, 2007 Mid-career review packet due to department chair
October 8-26, 2007 Department chair and appropriate faculty (same rank or higher) of the department will meet and discuss candidate’s progress
October 29-Nov. 9, 2007 Chair prepares mid-career review progress report
November 9, 2007 Progress report and original mid-career packet due to the Promotion and Tenure Committee (Dean’s Office, D4-14)
November 12-30, 2007 Promotion and Tenure Committee will evaluate the candidate’s packet in conjunction with the chairperson’s evaluation
December 3-21, 2007 Formal response from the Promotion and Tenure Committee completed and shared with the candidate, candidate’s chair, and the dean
