July 1, 2009 UFCD receives official tenure-eligible list from Provost and Academic Personnel Offices
July 6, 2009 List of nominees for tenure and/or promotion from Department Chairs submitted to the Dean
July 13, 2009 Department Chairs send out letters to solicit External Reviewers (refer to "Solicitation of Letters" memo)
September 4, 2009 Original P&T Packets due in the Dean's Office, D4-14, for technical/formatting review
September 4, 2009 External Reviewers' letters received by Department Chair
September 7–25, 2009 Packet adjustment/revision period
Sept 28– Oct 16, 2009 Departmental review and vote
October 16–19, 2009 Compile notebooks for P&T Advisory Committee
October 19, 2009 Deadline for completed P&T packets and 11 (2-sided) copies, submit to: D4-14
October 20, 2009 P&T Advisory Committee receive notebooks at "pre-review" meeting (discussion of UF and UFCD guidelines)
Oct 20–Dec 8, 2009 P&T Advisory Committee packet review and assessment period

Mid-Career Review

The mid-career review process for tenure-accruing and non-tenure accruing faculty in the College of Dentistry will occur after three years of employment.  The review process will be used to formally advise the tenure-accruing faculty member on his/her progress toward tenure and recommend courses of action for improvement, if necessary.  For non-tenure accruing faculty, the review process will be used to formally advise the candidate of his/her progress toward promotion.

July 1, 2009 List of eligible faculty for mid-career review sent to the department chairs from the dean's office
July 2–August 2, 2009 Candidates for mid-career review prepare progress reports in the tenure and promotion application format defined in the 2009–2010 guidelines, regulations, and packet instructionsOpens in a new window (without letters of evaluation and without a departmental vote)
August 3, 2009 Mid-career review packets due to department chair
August 4–September 1, 2009 Department chair and appropriate faculty (same rank or higher) in the department will meet and discuss the candidate's progress. Department chair completes the mid-career review evaluation report
September 1, 2009 The chair's evaluation report and original mid-career faculty progress report (original plus nine copies) due to the UFCD P&T Advisory Committee (Dean's Office, D4-14)
September 4–October 1, 2009 UFCD P&T Advisory Committee evaluates the candidate's career progress in conjunction with the chairperson's evaluation
October 5–November 2, 2009 UFCD P&T Advisory Committee chair prepares a summary of the career progress to date of each candidate and the reports are approved by the committee
November 3–November 13, 2009 Opinions of the UFCD P&T Advisory Committee are communicated to the candidate, the candidate's chair, and the dean
