Rosen wins ACP Award
Congratulations to Evan Rosen, Class of 2010, who won Third Place in the student table clinic competition at the 2009 American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) Annual Meeting in San Diego, Ca., in November.
Logan named 2009 UF Research Foundation Professor
Henrietta L. Logan, Ph.D., a professor in the department of community dentistry and behavioral science and director of the Southeast Center for Research to Reduce Disparities in Oral Health, received a UF Research Foundation Professor award.

Community Campaign Fundraiser a Success
The old adage, “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure” proved true once more during a special fundraising event for the College of Dentistry’s 2009 UF Community Campaign on Oct. 7 which raised more than $1,800.
Turner Serves as President of American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics
Glenn Turner, D.M.D., M.S.D., Director of the Maxillofacial Prosthetics Service and associate professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the UF College of Dentistry, is currently serving as president of the AAMP.
College participates in 4th Annual Florida Pain Summit
When it comes to chronic pain, the quest is for quality of life for patients who suffer. A group from the UF College of Dentistry are traveling to the Fourth Annual Pain Summit on Sept. 25 where 150 attendees will focus on pain and relief.
Strong start for research funding
The UF College of Dentistry announced a strong start to the fiscal year with research grant awards totaling $8 million during the first two months of this fiscal year. During the last fiscal year, total research awards were $17 million.
Low Elected President of the American Academy of Periodontology
Samuel Low, D.D.S., M.S., associate dean and professor in the Department of Periodontology was recently installed as President of the American Academy of Periodontology Board of Trustees during its 95th Annual Meeting in Boston, Mass.
Dental Students Form Ethics Club
The University of Florida College of Dentistry Student Professionalism and Ethics Club (SPEC) held its first meeting on Aug. 20 with more than 55 students, plus faculty and guests on hand to support the club and learn more about its purpose.
