Bogdanoff an honorary fellow
Congratulations to Steven Bogdanoff, D.M.D., recipient of the 2011 Honorary Fellow Award from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. The award recognizes his outstanding service and contribution to the college and the profession.
Gibbs accepted into ADEA leadership program
Congratulations to Micaela Gibbs who was accepted into the American Dental Education Associations (A.D.E.A.) Leadership Institute for 2012-13.
NCEF receives 2012 William J. Gies Award
The Naples Children and Education Foundation, which provided the funding for the college’s NCEF Pediatric Dental Center in Naples, Fl., received the 2012 William J. Gies Award.
McEdward earns research certification
Congratulations to Deborah McEdward, education and training coordinator II for the Dental Practice-Based Research Network, for her recent success in becoming a Certified Clinical Research Professional.
Rueda receives FEO award, will treat sleep disorder patients
Luis Rueda, D.D.S., M.S.D., received a Faculty Enhancement Opportunity Award from UF for Fall 2011. Rueda, an assistant professor in Restorative Dental Sciences, received $25,000 to pursue oral appliance therapy training to treat sleep apnea disorders.
2011 Outstanding Alumnus: Lee Anne Keough
Congratulations to Lee Anne Keough, D.M.D., M.S., who received the 2011 Outstanding Alumnus Award from the University of Florida College of Dentistry’s Academy of Alumni and Friends during the 2011 Dental Fall Weekend.
Good impressions on State Lobby Day
A group of D.M.D. students from the college traded their scrubs for business attire and traveled to Tallahassee to participate in State Lobby Day and, not surprisingly, they made a good impression on the hill.
DCRU: Open and Research Ready
The college opened a Dental Clinical Research Unit to facilitate and encourage translational research, providing a fully equipped dental clinical environment, which is immediately prepared to host single site and multi-center research projects.
Gibbs, Foerster inducted into ACD
Congratulations to Micaela Gibbs, D.D.S., and Ulrich Foerster, D.D.S., University of Florida faculty members who were inducted into the American College of Dentists (ACD) during their annual meeting in October.
Mini Impressions Program
On October 15, the Student National Dental Association (SNDA) successfully launched the first Mini Impressions Program at the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
