Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. M. Franklin Dolwick, Professor and Division Head
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a surgical specialty in dentistry. The division is made up of five, full-time surgeons who are Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Each surgeon in the division has undergraduate teaching responsibilities within the College of Dentistry and in the six-year, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program, which graduates two residents per year. In addition, each faculty member maintains a faculty practice, providing consultations and treatment on an out-patient and in-patient basis. Neuroscience
Dr. Brian Cooper, Professor, Division Head
The Division of Neuroscience is the basic science wing of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Diagnostic Sciences. The primary focus of this division is to investigate peripheral and central nervous system mechanisms that underlie acute, chronic and pathological pain. Various research is carried on through the projects of the faculty in this division.

Center for Implant Dentistry
Established in 1999, this interdisciplinary center coordinates research, educational programs, and diagnosis and treatment related to patients needing dental implants.
