Dr. Guelmann's areas of interest and research are dental education, dental biomaterials, trauma and sedation.

Biographical Information

Dr. Marcio Guelmann is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Florida. He received his D.D.S. degree in 1984 from the Federal University of Parana, Brazil, and his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 1988 from the Hadassah Faculty of Dental Medicine in Jerusalem, Israel. In 1999, Dr. Guelmann completed a one-year fellowship in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Florida. He joined the Department as an Assistant Professor in 2000. He served as Associate Director of the residency program from 2002 to 2004 and has served as Chairman since July of 2004. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Dental Education Association Leadership Institute. He is the author and co-author of over 40 manuscripts and serves in the Editorial Board as well as being a reviewer for national and international pediatric dental journals.
