Main Interests
Dr. Welsch is very active in the area of Veterinary Dentistry. He is the Director of Dental Services at the UF College of Veterinary Medicine, where he developed and implemented the first course devoted entirely to this field. He is an internationally recognized authority on tusk problems and consults with zoos and parks worldwide.
His other interests lie in the areas of articulator design and objective (measurable) evaluation of students and dentists. He serves on the advisory board of the Campus Federal Credit Union and is the faculty advisor to the University of Florida Aikido Club. He is a past President of the University of Florida Men's Golf Association. In his younger days, he played Basketball for the University, where he was a member of the first team in history to reach post-season play.
