Overview

The University of Florida College of Dentistry has a rich tradition of being an international leader in Oral Health Research. Our Research programs span a broad spectrum of basic, behavioral and clinical sciences, using cutting-edge technologies to improve oral and overall health. Well over 100 of our Faculty, Staff and Students are engaged in Research in the College and they collaborate extensively with researchers across the UF campus and throughout the world. Areas of particular interest include the interactions of infectious agents with the human host, oral cancer, oral:systemic health connections, autoimmunity, pain, taste and smell, health disparities, biomaterials, clinical dental studies, and health outcomes.

The Faculty of the College of Dentistry are dedicated to the training of the next generation of scientists and have many research programs that support graduate, dental and undergraduate students at UF. The College is also the home to an NIH-funded Comprehensive Training Program in Oral Biology that supports the training of graduate students, DMD-PhD students and post-doctoral training for basic and clinical scientists.
