Endodontics

The University of Florida College of Dentistry offers a 24-month degree program leading to a Master of Science in Dental Sciences with specialization in Endodontics (Project in Lieu of Thesis option) and a Certificate in Endodontics.

The program emphasizes the didactic, clinical, and research aspects of Endodontics. This is a highly competitive program that receives many applicants each year.

Tuition for the 2010-2011 academic years was approximately $14,555 for Florida residents and $37,746 for non-Florida residents.

All program applicants must apply through PASS (Postdoctoral Application Support Service), which is sponsored by the American Association of Dental Schools (www.adea.orgOpens in New Window). PASS is an application clearinghouse that provides uniform information to participating programs while relieving applicants of the burden of completing multiple individual applications. The PASS website opens for application in late spring/early summer. Participation in the PASS program is mandatory. We advise applicants to apply as early as possible.

You must apply to PASS by the deadline specified in the PASS materials to insure we receive your PASS application by our August 15th deadline.

Endodontic Fellowship

Available to U.S. and Foreign Dental Graduates

The Department of Endodontics offers an advanced education course entitled "Fellowship in Endodontics for the General Practitioner." The experience is tailored to the desires of the fellow with experiences in clinical endodontics, endodontic case analysis, clinical or basic research and didactic Endodontic courseware all available.

This course is designed to give the fellow an experience in didactic/clinical endodontics that will equip them to do more extensive endodontic treatment in their general practice. The fellow will work at the Veteran’s Hospital Dental Clinic one half day per week, under the direction of a full-time professor. In addition, the fellow may attend several departmentally offered courses and clinical case conferences that the endodontic residents take. We also offer the fellow an opportunity to work on a basic or clinical research project during the course. The research may be presented at the American Association of Endodontists Annual meeting and could also be published in the endodontic literature

This course is twelve months (1year) in length, beginning July 1 and ending on June 30. The tuition is $31,000.00 per year, made up of four non-refundable quarterly payments of $7,750.00. Upon completion of the Fellowship, 1600 CEU's and a certificate of completion from the Continuing Education Department is awarded. In addition, you will need to purchase a laptop (College's choice), scrubs, and certain textbooks. Details will be provided upon acceptance.

  4. Have a current official copy of your dental and college transcript sent to us (see mailing address on application form below). National Board scores are optional, but desired, for this program. TOEFL scores are required for this program.
