Introduction to CEREC® 3D CAD-CAM Technology

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

With the continued advances in technology, techniques and materials, and the reduction in dental laboratory training programs, the future of dentistry is changing. CAD-CAM dentistry is on the cutting edge of advanced restorative care. This "hands-on workshop" will allow you to "test-drive" Sirona's popular CEREC 3D CAD-CAM technology and New Biogeneric software, so that you can learn if this technology is the right fit for your practice. Clinical application, financial implications, and patient benefits will be discussed in a format that will take you from treatment planning and case selection all the way through preparation, design, milling, adhesive dentistry, cementation materials and techniques. Each participant will have ample opportunity to prep, powder, capture the optical impression, design, and mill multiple restorations on dentoform models. Your questions will be answered from an academic perspective, based on literature review and actual clinical cases completed using the CEREC 3D method.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the course, each participant should be knowledgeable in:

• The evolution of CAD-CAM technology, its clinical application and financial implications
• The indications and contra-indications for use of CAD-CAM generated restorations in the clinical environment
• Proper tooth preparation techniques for successful CAD-CAM generated inlays, onlays, crowns, and veneer restorations
• The pros and cons of the various adhesive dentistry and resin cement systems
• How to work the CEREC CAD-CAM equipment and Biogeneric software to successfully mill all ceramic restorations
• The proper delivery and cementation sequence for CAD-CAM generated restorations
