Utilizing Laser Technology to Manage Periodontal Tissue
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Today's dental practitioner is being exposed to laser
therapy as a procedure for treating soft tissue, ranging
from esthetic crown lengthening to treatment of peri-
odontitis. If you are a current "laser" user or consider-
ing a future in laser therapy, join us to experience the
following:
- Differentiate laser technologies and their respective
role for various treatments
- Review pros and cons of current and future laser
modalities with emphasis on specific equipment needs
- Explore indications for laser use and effective
techniques in meeting soft tissue expectations
- Introduce practice management techniques in integrat-
ing laser therapy into today’s progressive practice
Through a seminar and hands-on integrated format, a
limited number of participants will be exposed to both
generic and manufacturer resources in laser technology.
FACULTY:
- Samuel B. Low, D.D.S., M.S., M.Ed., is presently a
Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Practice and
Continuing Education at the University of Florida
College of Dentistry, with Board Diplomate status in the
American Academy of Periodontology. He is an
Associate Faculty member at the L.D. Pankey Institute
and maintains a private practice of Periodontics and
placement of implants. As a Clinical Investigator with
the Periodontal Disease Research Center, his research
interests involve automated probing, refractory periodontal
disease, and regeneration methodology.
