COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The NEW University of Florida CDE Study Group and National Dental Network are proud to announce a live program featuring nationally recognized speakers via satellite and onsite UF Faculty moderator. This program is designed to facilitate group discussion, live with both the featured speaker and the faculty moderator in a study group format.

Each 4-hour LIVE-PATIENT interactive program blends real-world, START-TO-FINISH patient treatment and step-by-step instructional training with sixty minutes of live Q&A with the featured clinician and technician team. SEE tooth surface detail as big as your screen and get the answers to your biggest questions!

Each program includes:

  • Pre-recorded live-patient treatment videos
  • Live Q/A with the speaker
  • Post-program study group and discussion with UF Faculty Moderator
  • Post-course web access to video-streamed recording of the entire program

All programs are scheduled on Friday afternoon from 1-5 PM. Refreshments included.

Replicating Nature, When Nature Has Been Compromised – April 11, 2008

Presented by: Dr. Cherilyn Sheets & Dr. Jacinthe Paquette

Dr.'s Sheets and Paquette will review the steps that brought the patient to the preparation appointment, and will demonstrate the patient's treatment from preparations and provisionalization to final try-in, cementation and occlusal refinement. The decisions and techniques needed to heighten the esthetic results of a natural looking dentition will be illustrated.

    You will learn:

  • How to evaluate patients for the hard and soft tissue elements needed for esthetic results.
  • The preparation and impression techniques to produce perfect dies and master casts.
  • The elements that make life-like restorations possible from preparation design to materials

INSTRUCTORS:

Dr. Cherilyn Sheets

Dr. Cherilyn Sheets maintains a full-time private practice in Newport Beach, California, with a special emphasis on esthetic rehabilitative dentistry and implants. She is an educator, clinician, author and lecturer, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Sheets is Co-Executive Director of the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute, an international non-profit teaching and research center, considered to be one of the finest microsurgical training centers in the world. She is also a Clinical Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the USC School of Dentistry and is on their Board of Counselors.

In partnership with the University of California Irvine (UCI) School of Engineering, Dr. Sheets is leading an ongoing research project involving energy dissipation in natural teeth and dental implants. She is also President of Perimetrics, LLC a manufacturing company for the Periometer instrumentation developed by Dr. James C. Earthman, which has been under evaluation at the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute since 1997.

Dr. Sheets is a Past President of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and the American Association of Women Dentists. Dr. Sheets is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the American Equilibration Society, the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontics and the Academy of Osseointegration. She is also a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, Academy of Dentistry International, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dentistry.

She received the 2002 Gordon Christensen Award for Excellence in Lecturing. Dr. Sheets serves on numerous editorial boards of peer-reviewed journals. She is also the Founder and Chairman of the Board of The Children's Dental Center in Inglewood, California, which is a non-profit prototype dental center for providing multidisciplinary care to children of the working poor.

Dr. Jacinthe Paquette

Recognized both nationally and internationally as a leader and educator in Esthetic Dentistry, Prosthodontists, and Implant dentistry, Dr. Jacinthe Paquette maintains a full-time private prosthodontic practice including an in-house dental laboratory with world-class laboratory dental technicians in Newport Beach, California.

She serves on numerous editorial boards, advisory boards, and peer-reviewed journals including "Consumer Guide to Dentistry", a web-based educational site for the general public. Dr. Paquette also serves as Co-Executive Director of the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute, a non-profit international teaching facility for dentists and dental technicians located in Newport Beach, California. The institute is recognized as being one of the finest microsurgical training centers in the world, providing dentists and dental technicians state-of-the-art procedures and techniques.

Among her professional affiliations, she holds Fellowships in the International College of Dentists, American College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dentistry, and she is a Diplomate of the American College of Prosthodontists. She also holds membership in numerous prestigious societies including the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics. Dr. Paquette has authored over 40 research and clinical articles on her areas of expertise and co-authored several textbook chapters.

Dr. Paquette received her Advanced Prosthodontic Training at the University of Southern California where she now serves as Associate Clinical Professor in the School of Dentistry.
