Student/Multicultural Affairs

The University of Florida and the College of Dentistry is committed to creating a student body and community of scholars that reflects the rich cultural and ethnic diversity of Florida and the United States. Our society is inexorably changing and is becoming more culturally diverse. No challenge exists in higher education and dental education or has greater importance than the challenge of enrolling students and hiring faculty who are members of diverse cultural and ethnic minority groups. The presence of these students and faculty enriches the University community, offers opportunity for robust academic dialogue, and contributes to better teaching and research and ultimately leads to improved quality of patient care for our state. The University and its components will benefit from the richness of relationships with a multicultural student body, faculty and staff who can learn from one another. Such diversity will assist to empower and inspire the respect and understanding of all of us and will be the basis of improved quality of care for all patients.
