Dentist Admissions: Transfer Programs
Overview
The University of Florida College
of Dentistry does not accept international transfer students into the DMD
program. We encourage you to complete the dental education program
in which you are currently enrolled and earn your dental degree.
To Practice
Dentistry in Florida:
Once you hold an international
dental degree, you can consider our 2-year Certificate
or 4-year DMD programs for international
dentists, if you are interested in practicing dentistry in Florida.
Advanced
Education and Graduate Programs:
Once you hold an international
dental degree, you can also apply to one of our many Advanced Education
and Graduate programs, if you are interested in dental specialty training.
Our Advanced Education and Graduate programs will enhance your knowledge
and skills in American Dental Association accredited dental specialties,
preparing you to function as a dental specialist.
Please understand, the Advanced
Education and Graduate programs do not make you eligible to practice
dentistry in Florida or to take the Florida dental license exam.
Admission
with Advanced Standing:
The University of Florida College
of Dentistry does not admit students with international dental degrees
to the DMD program with advanced standing. However, we do have 2 programs
for dentists who are residents of Florida who have international dental
degrees.
