High School Students: Useful Links

Here are some links which could be useful to you as you are trying to learn more about careers in dentistry:

http://www.ada.org

This link is to the American Dental Association main page. Clicking on the education section of this site will take you to a wealth of information about dental careers, including dentistry, dental hygiene, dental assisting, and dental laboratory technology. You can also get information about starting a dental practice, dental specialty programs and even get information about the Dental Admissions Test at this very well developed site.

http://www.adea.org

This is the site for the American Dental Education Association. You will find current links to all of the US and Canadian dental schools here. You can then look at any individual school from this site. There are over 50 dental schools in the US so it may take you a while to view all of them. You can also access the AADSAS dental application service from this site. That is how you apply to almost all of the US dental schools. Another very useful site.

http://www.asdanet.org

This is the link to the American Student Dental Association website. This group represents all of the dental students in the US and also has some nice resources for pre-dental students. Lots of information of interest to students here.

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

This link is to the US Department of Education Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) website. There is an online FAFSA application form in English and Spanish language versions, and a step by step explanation of the intricacies of federal student financial aid.
