UFCD Continuing Education: Costa Rica

Courses Offered | Frequently Asked Questions | Photo Gallery

The University of Florida College of Dentistry has formed a collaboration with Health Conundrums, LLC to provide educational courses in the exotic setting of Costa Rica in Central America.

The luxury Hotel Martino in Alajuela will host the courses in well-appointed old world charm, boasting polished hard wood floors and luxurious furniture in both the public areas and the bedrooms. In addition to accumulating state-of-the-art dental knowledge, your family will enjoy the Olympic size pool, spa, and exercise facilities, as well as tranquil walks in the beautiful gardens.

The gourmet restaurant offers delicious food and a magnificent view, with outdoor seating on the elevated verandah overlooking the grounds. With year-round daytime temperatures in the 70s, the weather is beautiful, but for our guests' ultimate comfort, all bedrooms and educational rooms have air-conditioning.

While at the hotel you may wish to take some excursions to see the tropical rain forests, experience the hot springs at the foot of a live volcano, glide through the tree canopy in a cloud forest, and visit Pacific and Atlantic surfing beaches. For the adventurous, there is bungee jumping and white water rafting. And for those that prefer a more leisurely approach for their fun, there is golf, fishing, and snorkeling. These are a few of the excursions available at surprisingly low prices.

Costa Rica is tourist friendly and safe; a true Central American success story with high literacy, good health, a long history of a stable democracy, and one of the best climates and scenic opportunities in the world.

Come and join us in an academic adventure in Paradise……

Airfare is very reasonable from Miami to San Jose, Costa Rica, as direct flights of 2 ¾ hours cost around $273-$295 with Martinair or American Airlines. Departure from other major cities is reasonable, as well, with rates of $288 from Orlando and about $417 from New York JFK or Newark. These prices are US carriers and include taxes and were found at a travel web site.
