A Simplified Methodology for Full Mouth Reconstruction
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
If you were building a house, would you build it one wall a year? Why do we restore our patients' one quadrant at a time? Or worse,
one tooth at a time? If you did build a house one wall at a time, what kind of a result could you expect? Would the colors of the walls perfectly match? Would the
walls all be perfectly plumb? Or would you reasonably expect a compromise in the result? What expectations do your patients have when less than comprehensive
treatment is done? What expectations do we have? Is it any surprise that after years of one tooth at a time dentistry, the result is less than ideal?
There is no greater need to deliver comprehensive care than right now. Yet, the complexity can be sometimes overwhelming: What treatment position is best? Should
vertical be increased? What occlusal scheme is best? What materials should be used to provide the best prognosis? How should treatment be sequenced? And don't forget
the most important question, how do I get my patient to understand and buy into comprehensive treatment? Get answers to these questions and more, following
cases from diagnosis to completion.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
- Be able to manage a 28 unit full mouth reconstruction, correctly treatment planning, sequencing, and executing the patient.
- Be able to present a complex treatment plan to the patient, establishing why comprehensive care can not be executed over a long period of time.
- Be able to better understand treatment positions, occlusal schemes, and increasing vertical dimension.
- Understand why some materials work better for crowns and bridges than others.
