ADVANCED TRAINING:
Effective Periodontal Therapy Through a Workshop in Technology
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course leaves traditional root planing techniques behind and moves into a new era of providing periodontal care through technology.
By incorporating a combination of both manual and ultrasonic instrumentation in tandem with antimicrobials, the participant is taken to new heights in providing
a synergistic level of care.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This hands-on workshop will directly impact your patients by:
- Utilizing electronic data collection to find and present periodontal care in a solo environment
- Introducing ultrasonic instrumentation for periodontal patients with emphasis on patient comfort and acceptance
- Operating ultrasonics with micro-thin inserts in a sulcular arena with an array of medicaments
- Providing ergonomic techniques to decrease physical fatigue and enhance time efficiency
- Placing time release local delivery antibiotics in selected sites
FACULTY:
Samuel B. Low, D.D.S., M.S., M.Ed., is presently a Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty Practice and Continuing Education at the University of
Florida College of Dentistry, with Board Diplomate status in the American Academy of Periodontology. He is an Associate Faculty member at the L.D. Pankey
Institute and maintains a private practice of Periodontics and placement of implants. As a Clinical Investigator with the Periodontal Disease Research Center, his
research interests involve automated probing, refractory periodontal disease, and regeneration methodology.
