Main
Interests:
My research is directed
by Dr. Ken Anusavice, who has been the principal investigator
of two NIH/NIDCR grants. We have studied two glass-ceramic systems
over the past 10 years, lithium-based and fluorcanasite glass-ceramics.
We have analyzed their indentation strength, fracture toughness,
chemical durability, and color properties, and we have characterized
their crystal microstructures by X-ray diffraction, SEM, and energy
dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). We are currently studying the controlled
release of fluorine and other agents from a variety of particle
size distributions and from particles distributed in resin coating.
