Blackboard Help

This page will help you if you are taking a UF College of Dentistry course using Blackboard, a web-based course management system used by several colleges within the Health Science Center. If you are Faculty or Staff, go to Blackboard Support for assistance.

Software Notes: You should have the latest version of Acrobat Reader (http://www.adobe.com) and Real Player (www.real.com) so you will be able to open the PDF documents and streaming video on some of the Blackboard courses.

Logging in to Blackboard

1. Start Here! >>> http://blackboard.health.ufl.edu - this is Blackboard Website for all Health Science Center colleges be sure to add this page to your bookmarks or favorites.

If you're on the right page, you should see a log in screen like the one below.

2. Select the "Login" button to log in to your Blackboard account and the following screen will appear. Note: If you forgot your password, this is the page where you would go to reset your password, by selecting the link that says "Forgot your password?"

3. Enter your username and password, select the "Login" button, and your "Welcome" page should open up next. Once your "Welcome page" opens, you will be ready to access your course sites, course announcements, and Blackboard tools. The example example below if for a user names Ima Student.

The courses you are enrolled in will be listed on the far right side of your welcome page. See an example below. Select a link to a course to enter that course's site.

Once you're in a course site, you should see the view similar to the one below, opening on an announcements page.

Each of the buttons on the left provides access to different course related information and tools. The "Tools" menu has similar features to the Tools menu on from the main "My Institution" or "Welcome" page.

To log out of the course select the "Logout" icon on the top left of your screen

Changing Your Password

After you have logged into Blackboard, you can also make changes to your account from the "Tools" menu on the "My Institution" tab/page.

Select "Personal Information" to change your password or email address.

Choose the option that says "Change Password" and you will be asked to enter your new password in two places. Be sure to select the "Submit" button when you are finished.
