ADVANCED ORAL MEDICINE AND CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY:
This course is designed to enhance students’ competency in assessment and management of medically complex patients.  Using a case-based approach, students will independently assess the medical and dental aspects of selected patients, review medications, potential drug interactions, and generate mock preparations. Competency assessment will include student presentations of case reviews to peers and faculty group leaders.  This advanced course builds on knowledge gained from courses DEN6262 and DEN6260.

CLINICAL USE OF DENTAL MATERIALS:
This clinical objective focuses on the development of the relationships between properties and composition of six categories of dental materials which are most often used in dental practice. CLINICAL OPERATIVE DENTISTRY 6:
This course requires the student/dentist to prepare, restore, finish and polish, at a clinically acceptable level, an accumulative total of a minimum of ninety restorations of which 20 must be Class II amalgams, 10 must be composite resin, 5 must be onlays, and 5 must be pin amalgams for assigned patients. Additionally, student/dentist will pass the 800 level Class II amalgam test and the dentoform exercise.
