What are the College of Dentistry's computer requirements?

UFCD computer requirements follow the university's standards with a few extra recommendations.

What is the College of Dentistry's policy on email?

Starting Fall 2002, the Office of Education must have a Gatorlink email address on file for each student. The Gatorlink account will be used as the primary communication. Your Blackboard user account should also list your Gatorlink email - which can be changed in the "Tools" menu under "Personal Information".

When is the Florida State Dental Board examination held?

There are two examinations each year. One is held the first two weeks of June, the second examination is the second week in December. Dental license applications can be requested by email from the following web site: http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/dentistry/dn_applications.html

If you need additional information related to Dental Boards and Licenses go to the Dental Section of the Florida Department of Health's web site under "Information for Becoming a Practioner" and "Licensure Requirements".

What are the guidelines to qualify for Florida residency status?

What are the guidelines regarding confidentialy of student records?

The confidentiality of student records is covered by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, better known as the Buckley Amendment, and established as UF policy through Rule 6C1-4.007, FAC, which is on the web at: http://www.generalcounsel.ufl.edu/Rules/Chapter 4/4007.pdf. Only public directory information such as the student's local/permanent address and listed telephone number, major field of study, and dates of attendance at UF can be released without written permission from the student.  The Buckley Amendment also states student information should not be transmitted to third parties outside the university.

Who do I contact if I'm not going to be able to come to school because I'm ill?

Freshmen and sophomores should call the Office of Education at 392-2949, juniors and seniors call their patient coordinators and the Office of Education.  Staff within OOE will complete a "Report of Student Leave" form for you. Then immediately upon your return to the college, you must come into the Office of Education and sign the leave form (or face Dr. Gale).
