Main Interests:

My work is directed at the production and characterization of murine monoclonal antibodies against suspected periodontal pathogenic microorganisms. These monoclonal antibodies are used for the rapid detection and description of these organisms from disease sites as well as the establishment of the immunobiologic characteristics and similarities of a number of the gram negative organisms. Other work is involved with the immunologic modulation of the oral colonization by suspected pathogenic microorganismsin the monkey. Parameters such as the immune response of the squirrel monkey and immunogenic bacterial antigens are also under study. Further areas of study involve monoclonal antibodiy analysis of plaque microorganisms and the modulation of colonizationby presumptive periopathogens in animal models (Periodontal Disease Research Center).
