About our Alumni

The department of Orthodontics graduated its first class in 1979. Including our most recent graduates of 2005, we have a total of 68 orthodontic alumni practicing throughout Florida, the U.S., and the world.

Orthogators, our orthodontic alumni association, is actively involved in supporting the Department of Orthodontics. Every fall, alumni and friends gather for our annual Orthogators meeting for fellowship and continuing education. Recently, nationally recognized orthodontic speakers such as Vince Kokich, Larry Andrews, James McNamara, and Anoop Sondhi have been brought in to lecture at this event.

Our alumni are active throughout the Southern Association of Orthodontists and Florida Association of Orthodontists, with several members serving noteworthy leadership roles including President of the FAO. We are very proud of the support our alumni provides our department. It is because of their hard work and contributions that we continue to be an outstanding program.

Recently, renovations were completed for the graduate orthodontic clinic, turning it into a state-of-the-art teaching facility. This renovation would not have been possible without the efforts of our alumni and we greatly appreciate their support.

For Our Alumni

Orthogators 2005 - Please mark your calendar now for Friday September 30, 2005! We are planning a very big day for all alumni and department friends. There will be a welcome breakfast with our current Dean, Terri Dolan, update lectures from current clinical trails and research in the department with CE credits, a catered business lunch meeting, and a grand clinic / office tour of our brand new facility. The evening reception will be at the new Emerson Alumni center. We plan great food, entertainment, and a departmental history with friends and faculty from the past to present as well as recognition to those who contributed to our new clinic.

Don’t forget to mail in your annual dues for your alumni membership. These dues are essential to allow us to have our meetings, pay for lecturers, and support our orthodontic department. Your annual dues are $150 for alumni, $75 for faculty; for first year grads and residents, dues are waived.
