UFCD Orthodontics Clinics: Staff

The Department currently has two full-time orthodontists on staff to accommodate all patient needs.

Timothy T. Wheeler, D.M.D., Ph.D.
Professor & Chair
Dr. Wheeler graduated from Stetson University in 1976 and received a Ph.D. in the Medical Sciences from the University of Florida in 1980. He received his D.M.D. (1985) and his Certificate in Orthodontics (1988) from the University of Florida. He is Board certified and has practiced in the Department since 1988. Dr. Wheeler has been actively involved in clinical research for 20 years. He currently is the principal investigator on a large clinical trial asking the question of when is the best time to treat Class II malocclusions. He is also a principal investigator on a clinical trial investigating the new InvisAlign appliance system. He has published over 40 articles and lectured internationally extensively.

Charlie Dolce, D.D.S., Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Dr. Dolce graduated from Canisius College in 1984. He received his D.D.S. (1988) and his Ph.D. (1996) from SUNY at Buffalo. He received his Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Florida in 1993 and is Board certified.
Dr. Dolce is a co-investigator on a clinical trial examining the surgical correction of severe Class II malocclusions.

Front Desk / Assistants

The Orthodontic assistants and front desk staff are a great group with spirit and personality. They are always available to help meet the needs of the faculty, residents, and patients.
