Second-Year Residents:

     Dr. Kristin Cavanah


Dr. Cavanah was born and raised in North Palm Beach, Florida.  She was a competitive swimmer from age 6 until 22.  She "backstroked" straight up to the University of Richmond on a swimming scholarship and received a BS in Biology and a BA in Rhetoric/Communication Studies.  Promptly after graduation, Dr. Cavanah attended Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine and received her DMD in May of 2006.  With completion of her residency, she plans on working in private practice in Satellite Beach, FL
where her fiance, Mike lives.

     Dr. David Donald
"Chief Resident"

Dr. Donald is from Lake Charles, LA and is 26 yrs old. He attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. Upon graduation he attended Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans, LA and received his DDS degree in 2006.  David and his wife Maria are the parents of two beautiful children: Julianne-2 yrs and Christopher-1 yr
, and are expecting their 3rd child in December. After completion of his residency, David plans on working in private practice.

     Dr. Suzanne Fournier

Suzanne Fournier, D.D.S. is originally from Miami, FL.  She graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN with a double major in Biology and History.  Dr. Fournier graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2006.  She plans on working in a public health clinic with medically compromised and special needs patients when she completes the residency.

     Dr. Lesley Rudolph

Dr. Rudolph was born in Syracuse, NY and raised in Tampa, FL. She graduated from Duke University in 2000 with a degree in Sociology and a certificate in elementary education. She taught 4th grade at Independent Day School in Tampa from 2000 to 2002 and graduated from University of Florida College of Dentistry in 2006. After completing the residency program, she plans on practicing in the Tampa area.

     Dr. Jason Sotto

Dr. Sotto graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Sociology. He then continued his education at the University of Florida College of Dentistry and graduated with a D.M.D. in 2006.  Dr. Sotto is married and has two wonderful children who he spends most of his extra time with.  Dr. Sotto is very passionate about community service and has been involved with two dental related mission trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

First-Year Residents:


     Dr. Maigrely Abreu-Hernandez

Dr. AbrueDr. Abreu-Hernandez was born in Havana, Cuba.  She came to the states when she was only one year old, in the Mariel boatlift of 1980 along with her family.  She grew up in Miami, Florida.  She graduated from Florida International University in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.  She then went to Washington D.C. for one year where she did an internship for the Food and Drug Administration.  In 2003 she began her journey as a dental student at the Univerity of Florida.  She graduated with a D.M.D in 2007 and continues to be a part of the gator nation as a pediatric dental resident.  Upon completion of her program she and her husband, Santiago, plan to move back home to South Florida

       Dr. Alissa Dragstedt

Dr. Alissa Dragstedt was born on a military base in Wuerzburg, Germany, and lived there until attending college in Florida in 1993.  She received her Bachelors of Science from the University of Florida, and graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 2005.  Upon graduation, she worked in private practice in Gainesville Florida, and subsequently worked in the Health Departments of Dixie and Gilchrist Counties.  Dr. Dragstedt is an active member of her community and enjoys working on community service projects.  She is married to a wonderful husband, has a two-year old son, and just welcomed a baby girl into the world.  Upon graduation, Dr. Dragstedt plans to practice dentistry right here in Gainesville.  Go Gators!!!!

        Dr. Karly Fabres Francis

Dr. Francis was born in Trinidad and Tobago and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida when she was six years old.  She graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Florida in 2003 and completed her D.M.D degree as a Gator in 2007.  Dr. Francis got married over the summer, and spends most of her free time with her new husband and their friends and family.  Upon finishing her residency, Dr. Francis plans to go into private practice in Florida.



 

        Dr. Meaghan Kindregan

Dr. Kindregan is from Alpharetta, GA and is 28 years old.  She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2001 with a degree in Child and Family Development.  She completed her dental training at the Medical College of Georgia earning a DMD in 2007.  Meaghan and her husband, Patrick, became parents to their first child, Ava Reeves, on August 12, 2007!  Most of her time is spent caring for Ava, however, she also enjoys playing with her two golden retrievers, visiting with friends and family, and watching Georgia football!  Upon completion of her residency, Meaghan plans to return home and join a private practice in the North Georgia area.   





       Dr. Maggie Novy

Dr. Maggie Novy was born in Morristown, New Jersey, yet her immediately family currently resides in Ft. Myers, Florida.  She attended the University of Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology.  Upon graduation she entered dental school at the University of Florida College of Dentistry where she received her DMD in 2007.  Maggie enjoys running, sports, outdoor activities, traveling, and Gator football.  Dr. Novy is currently undecided on where she will practice upon completion of her residency, however, she is considering the Orlando area.
